For those without prior design experience, building a fully functional website for the first time can be overwhelming. An understanding of the basic principles and tools of WordPress and web design can go a long way. In this course, you will learn by doing. You will have an experienced designer on-hand to help solve problems along the way to get your website LIVE.

Today, getting a website up and running quickly is easier than ever before. In this workshop, we will help you build your website using WordPress, the worlds most popular Content Management System (CMS). One of the reasons WordPress is so popular, is that it is so easy to use.

WordPress is also extremely powerful and has loads of sophisticated and advanced features. There are thousands of add-on products (called “plugins”) that are available, many for free, that add additional features and functionality to your website. Of course, the vastness of the options available can also be overwhelming! Valuable lessons often come from experience, and it’s from this experience that we will show you how to approach building your website in a way that makes sense and help you choose the plugins that will best meet your needs. This workshop will give to practical hands on experience configuring WordPress and selected plugins for your specific needs.

The actual hands on experience you gain will allow you to confidently undertake your ongoing website management yourself so you won’t need to hire developers or pay someone else every time you want to update your site.
